About Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary
Binsar is a 47 sq km sanctuary on a ridge at 2,412 m near Almora, celebrated for 200+ Himalayan bird species and the 300 km panoramic view from Zero Point. The pristine forests of oak, rhododendron, and horse chestnut are among the finest in Kumaon. Relatively unknown to mass tourism, Binsar is ideal for serious birdwatchers, wildlife photographers, and those seeking a forest retreat above Almora.
