Panch Prayag — Sacred Confluences Tour

The Panch Kedar is a group of five sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, nestled in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Comprising Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar, these revered shrines attract thousands of pilgrims, trekkers, and spiritual seekers every year. According to Hindu mythology, after the Kurukshetra War, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva's blessings for redemption. Lord Shiva, disguised as a bull, disappeared into the earth, and different parts of his divine form appeared at five locations, where the Panch Kedar temples were established.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1
Haridwar → Devprayag → Rudraprayag
Depart Haridwar and stop at Devprayag — the most dramatic of the five prayags, where the green Bhagirathi and milky Alaknanda merge to form the sacred Ganga. Visit the Raghunath Temple atop the sangam. Continue to Rudraprayag — where the Mandakini from Kedarnath joins the Alaknanda. Visit the Rudranath Temple and Champak Devi Temple.
Day 2
Rudraprayag → Karnaprayag → Nandaprayag
Visit Karnaprayag — where the Pindar River meets the Alaknanda, associated with the warrior Karna of the Mahabharata. Offer prayers at the Uma Devi Temple. Continue to Nandaprayag — where the Nandakini meets the Alaknanda. Visit the Gopalji Temple and enjoy the scenic riverside setting.
Day 3
Nandaprayag → Vishnuprayag → Joshimath
Visit Vishnuprayag — the northernmost of the five confluences, where the Dhauliganga meets the Alaknanda at 1,372 metres. The Vishnuprayag Temple stands at the sangam. Continue to Joshimath and visit the ancient Narsingh Temple — winter seat of Badrinath.
Day 4
Joshimath → Badrinath Darshan → Joshimath
Drive to Badrinath and receive darshan of Lord Badrinarayan. Bathe in Tapt Kund, visit Brahma Kapal, and explore Mana — the last Indian village, home to Vyas Gufa and the mythical Saraswati River. Return to Joshimath.
Day 5
Joshimath → Rishikesh → Haridwar → Departure
Drive back through the Panch Prayag to Haridwar, passing each sacred confluence one more time, before departure. We hope this pilgrimage fills your heart with peace and devotion. We look forward to organizing your next sacred journey.
