About Hemkund Sahib
Hemkund Sahib at 4,329 m is one of Sikhism's holiest sites — where Guru Gobind Singh meditated in a previous life according to the Dasam Granth. The Gurudwara stands on the shore of a pristine glacial lake ringed by seven peaks. The community kitchen (langar) serves free meals continuously to all pilgrims regardless of faith. The physical effort required to reach it combined with the extraordinary natural setting creates an experience of rare spiritual and physical power.
