About Pantnagar
Pantnagar is best known for two things: it is home to the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology — India's first agricultural university and a cradle of the Green Revolution — and it hosts Pantnagar Airport, the main air gateway to the Kumaon region.
Set on the Terai plains at the foot of the Kumaon hills, the town has a planned, campus-led character, surrounded by the experimental farms and research institutions that made it a landmark in Indian agriculture.
For travellers, Pantnagar functions mainly as an arrival and transit point: visitors flying in head onward to Nainital, Ranikhet, Bhimtal and the wider Kumaon hills, with the airport offering the quickest access to these popular destinations.

Best Time to Visit
October to March is most comfortable; the plains are hot in summer and humid in the monsoon.
