Overview
The Panch Prayag are the five sacred confluences (prayag) in the Alaknanda River system of Uttarakhand, each carrying immense spiritual significance in the Hindu tradition. A 'prayag' is the auspicious meeting point of two rivers — and in the Garhwal Himalayas, five such confluences are revered as especially divine. From Vishnuprayag in the north to Devprayag in the south — where the combined waters finally receive the name 'Ganga' — this tour traces the holy river system from its high-mountain origins to the plains. Each prayag has its own ancient temple, its own mythology, and its own unique energy.
