About Deoria Tal and Chopta
Deoria Tal and Chopta form the finest accessible short-trek combination in Garhwal for those with limited time or fitness. Deoria Tal is a glacial lake at 2,438 m above Sari village that provides the most famous Himalayan lake reflection in Uttarakhand — the entire Chaukhamba massif (7,138 m) mirrors perfectly in the still morning water. Chopta at 2,680 m is a pristine meadow just 3.5 km below Tungnath temple with rhododendrons, wildlife, and the gateway to Chandrashila summit.
