Kasar Devi

Kasar Devi temple above Almora at 2,116 m sits within the Van Allen Radiation Belt — a scientifically confirmed geomagnetic zone that has been documented to affect human consciousness. NASA has identified the same electromagnetic properties here as at Stonehenge and Machu Picchu. Swami Vivekananda meditated here in 1890, Alfred Sorenson (Sunyata) lived here for decades, and Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder, and Bob Dylan all visited during the 1970s hippie trail. Road: Almora → Kasar Devi (8 km, ~25 min taxi). Almora is 90 km from Kathgodam (~3.5 hrs). Delhi → Kasar Devi via Kathgodam (~370 km, ~9 hrs).
