About Pindari Glacier
The Pindari Glacier trek follows the beautiful Pindar river valley through traditional villages, dense forests, and high-altitude glacial terrain. At Zero Point (3,660 m), the peaks of Nanda Devi East, Nanda Khat, and Nanda Kot rise dramatically above the glacier snout. KMVN rest houses at each campsite make this trek suitable for trekkers who prefer not to carry camping equipment — a rare convenience on a high-altitude glacier route.
Places to See
• Pindari Glacier Zero Point (3,660 m, Nanda Khat and Nanda Devi East views)
• Dhakuri Top (3,800 m, panoramic viewpoint on Day 2)
• Khati Village (last inhabited settlement, traditional stone houses)
• Kafni Glacier Side Trek (from Dwali, 2 extra days — equally magnificent, less visited)
• Phurkiya Camp (3,260 m, last camp before glacier)
Best Time
May–June (best views, snow melted, peaks clear). September–October (stable weather, excellent photography). Trek: 6–7 days. Avoid monsoon July–August.
How to Reach
Road: Kathgodam → Bageshwar → Song village (208 km, ~7 hrs). Trek starts from Song (1,905 m).
