About Tungnath–Chandrashila
Tungnath Temple (3,680 m) is the world's highest Shiva temple and one of the five Panch Kedar shrines. The additional 1.5 km to Chandrashila summit (4,130 m) delivers a 360° Himalayan panorama — one of the finest views accessible on a moderate trek in India. The base at Chopta (2,680 m) provides dense rhododendron and oak forest. Deoria Tal (2,438 m) nearby offers a perfect Chaukhamba reflection in its glacial lake.
