About Dayara Bugyal
Dayara Bugyal is one of the most beautiful high-altitude meadows in Garhwal, covering approximately 28 sq km at 3,408 m in Uttarkashi district. In winter (December–March) it transforms into a natural skiing ground with deep snow — one of the very few places in India where backcountry skiing is practiced. In summer it is an outstanding camping and trekking destination with extraordinary views of Draupadi Ka Danda, Bandarpoonch, Srikanth, and the Gangotri peak group. Barnala Tal at the meadow's edge provides perfect peak reflections.
Places to See
• Dayara Bugyal Meadow (28 sq km at 3,408 m, 360° peak views)

Tips
Dayara is one of very few places in India for backcountry skiing on natural snow — hire a local guide from Raithal. Summer meadow overnight camp gives the best sunset and sunrise views. Raithal village homestays are excellent. Combine with Harshil Valley (50 km) and Gangotri for a complete Uttarkashi circuit.
