About Rudrapur
Rudrapur is one of the largest and fastest-growing cities of Uttarakhand's Terai plains, the commercial and industrial heart of the Udham Singh Nagar district. Built around the SIDCUL industrial estate, it is a hub of manufacturing and trade rather than a traditional tourist town, and serves as an important gateway between the plains and the Kumaon hills.
For travellers, Rudrapur functions mainly as a transit and business stop, with good road and rail connectivity, modern hotels, shopping malls and dining that make it a convenient base before heading up to the hill stations of Kumaon such as Nainital and Ranikhet.
While it lacks the scenic drama of the mountains, the surrounding Terai countryside offers fertile farmland, the Atria and other markets, and easy access to nearby attractions like the Nanak Sagar reservoir and the cultural town of Kashipur.
