About Ranikhet
Ranikhet is a quiet Kumaon Rifles cantonment at 1,829 m whose military discipline has preserved its forests pristine for 130+ years. The Chaubatia Orchards (600 acres of apples, plums, peaches, and apricots), the bell-covered Jhula Devi Temple, and a scenic 9-hole golf course with Himalayan backdrop are the defining attractions. Dense forests of deodar and oak surround the town, broken by meadows with stunning views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Nanda Khat.
